Rent-A-Thug Coming to Kickstarter June 18th!

On June 18th, the first new Rent-A-Thug since 2010 is coming to print!

Rent-A-Thug – La Cosa Glasnostra is a one-shot comic story for mature readers. It is the standalone story of arms dealers Rastovich and Red Ilsa trying to buy weapons looted from the former Eastern Bloc’s arsenal, and the ensuing bloodbath when that goes awry. Can their love survive betrayals and hails of gunfire, or will they drown in the sea of blood they’ve created?

It will be launching on Kickstarter, and delivering in September. Options available to backers will include digital and print copies of La Cosa Glasnostra, art commissions from me, and digital (and some print) copies of many of my past projects! Please sign up to be notified when the Kickstarter launches, because having a lot of followers on it is helpful for algorithmic reasons I don’t understand.

BURGERPunk: The RPG is now LIVE ON KICKSTARTER!

In the dark future/past of 1997 America has been destroyed, a victim of its own hubris, unchecked consumerism and the Living Meat™. Amid the ashes of the Cola Wars, shell-shocked survivors struggle to piece society back together while fighting for survival against burger-clown cultists, meaty monstrosities, mutated maize and cola-addicted blood thieves. It’s not the apocalypse anyone was expecting, but it’s the one that happened — welcome to the world of BURGERPunk: The RPG

FINALLY after months of preparation, the BURGERPunk TTRPG campaign is live on Kickstarter. I’m sure my regular readers have seen me mention it already, but for anyone new (or who just reads the comics and ignores these posts), BURGERPunk is a 2D6-based tabletop role-playing game and setting written/created by my partner, Cait, and illustrated/designed by yours truly (with rad cover art by Łukasz Kowalczuk). Inspired by dystopian sci-fi, 80s action films and vaguely-remembered fast-food advertising from our childhoods, BURGERPunk is set in an alternate timeline where the Cola Wars were a very literal conflict that have brought about the end of the American Way of Life as we know it.

We’ll have more to say about it in the next few days, but for now I recommend heading over to the Kickstarter page to read more. And if you want to hear us talking more about BURGERPunk with our flesh-mouths, you can listen to Cait and I chatting about BURGERPunk and a goofy 80s post-apocalypse film starring pro wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper on this episode of Podside Picnic (which was very fun to record).

It’s only on Kickstarter for a limited time, so go check it out now!

Hell, Inc. Volume 4: Mandatory

The digital version of what will become Hell, Inc. Volume 4 is done, and it’s “Mandatory!” As was (and remains) the case with volume 3, the fourth book will be available exclusively to my Patreon patrons as a PDF. Patreon doubles as a relatively predictable income source as well as an incredible source of validation. A single new $1 patron makes my day – it’s a wonderful affirmation that people love and support the comics I’m making. If you want to make my day AND get access to Volume 4 (as well as Volume 3 and over 1000 pages of other digital comics), click on the cover below!

Hell, Inc. Volume 3 – Team-Building Exercise

I’ve been at home even more than normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and have spent a lot of that time writing and drawing Hell, Inc. strips. So much time, in fact, that the entire third book is done and formatted!

On the down side, the bulk of my income during isolation has been reduced to what’s coming in through Patreon. That’s not ideal. So I decided to combine those two things – during isolation I’ve been offering the digital comics currently available in the $5 as a one time sign-up gift for new Patrons. With the completion of book 3, I’m going to upload the digital edition for patrons. That’s going to be the only way to get early access to book 3 – everyone else will have to wait until it out in print alongside book 4.

So if you think Hell, Inc. is worth a buck (or more), head over to the Patreon and download your copy of Hell, Inc. Vol. 3 – “Team-Building Exercise!”
