A Very Short Mystery

Truly I am the successor to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or Agatha Christie with these kinds of mystery writing skills. Or at least the successor to the procedurals where it’s always the first suspect but they chase a bunch of others to pad the episode.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Anthony is Employee of the Week, and has jumped on board to read Hockeypocalypse: Slashers, which you should, too! The first 36 pages (which make up issue 14) are up, with issue 15 starting right away. You’ll be helping support the book’s existence, and also be getting the printed book when it’s ready!

You can help Hell, Inc. reach more readers by voting for it on Top Webcomics (also, y’know, tell your friends about it and send them links and shit)! Click on the banner below to vote daily!

Next Week: Everything is extremely normal, especially when you have to say it is extremely normal. Read it early on Patreon!

Carry On

Just ignore the guy who slammed his head through the wall. Happens all the time.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Azhar Baig is Employee of the Week, and has a podcast called The Wisdom of Love that you should check out. It’s a comedic recounting of the Great Western Philosophers. In addition to all of that philosophy, he has access to Hell, Inc. Volume 5: Overtime, and you can, too, by supporting Hell, Inc. on Patreon! It’s my entire income at the moment, which is not ideal!

You can also help out Hell, Inc. by voting on Top Webcomics! More votes = more visibility, and it’s still early enough in the month that the rankings are very fluid. Click on the banner below to vote daily!

Next Week: Party planning instructions are more thorough than anyone’s actual job training. Read it early on Patreon!

Less Immediate, Still Regret

This and the next strip were originally supposed to be one episode, which was, obviously a very poor bit of planning. Thankfully I’ve been doing this long enough to be able to spot those kinds of issues before they become a problem, or solve those problems in ways that don’t stick out as patch-jobs.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Christine Bennett, better known as Purple Pony Art, is Employee of the Week! She has early access to Hell, Inc. Volume 5: “Overtime” and you can, too! Head over to the Hell, Inc. Patreon and for as little as $1 a month you’ll get access to that book and over 1000 pages of over digital comics! Patreon is my most predictable source of income, so even $1 a month makes a big difference!

You can also vote for Hell, Inc. on Top Webcomics, which is the primary source of new readers for the comic. It’s the beginning of the month, so votes are worth even more as the rankings reset. Vote daily by clicking on the banner below!

Next Week: Back immediate regrets. Read it early on Patreon!

Worst Person in Hell

One thing I’ve learned while working on Hell, Inc. is that a handful of the characters are a huge pain in the ass to colour because they have way more colours than everyone else. Willis is one of those characters. I’m glad he’s not really a character who pops up in backgrounds.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Jillian Dolan, artist of Kyle the Nihilist Dinosaur, Misha, and other delightful comics, is Employee of the Week! She is one of the folks with exclusive early access to the digital edition of Hell, Inc. Volume 4: Mandatory and will be receiving a digital copy of Hell, Inc. Volume 5: Overtime when it’s done in two weeks or so. Support Hell, Inc. on Patreon for as little as $1 a month and you, too, can have early access to every Hell, Inc. book and over a thousand pages of other comics!

You can also help Hell, Inc. by voting for it on Top Webcomics, which boosts the comic’s visibility and helps bring in new readers. You can vote daily by clicking on the banner below!

Next Week: The party planning binder is… maybe a bit excessive. Read it early on Patreon!

The Greatest Hits

What are the toady greatest hits, you ask? FIND OUT NEXT WEEK! How’s that for a next episode tease? What? It’s lame? Well who asked you, anyway?

All right, I’m having a conversation with myself now, so I’m gonna stop and move this thing along.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Sebastian is Employee of the Week, and you can, too! In fact, you can also read Hell, Inc. Volume 4 – “Mandatory” before the general public by donating as little as $1 a month to Hell, Inc. on Patreon! There are also over a thousand pages of other comics available to patrons, so check that out.

You can also help Hell, Inc. by voting for it on Top Webcomics, where a large number of new readers come from. Vote daily by clicking the banner below, as it helps the comic move up the ranks and gain greater visibility!

Next Week: Schemes upon schemes upon easily actionable non-schemes. Read it early on Patreon!

Terrible Step-stool

It turns out that humans are not actually good step-stools, especially when they are much smaller than you are.

You’ve probably seen it on the site or on social media by now, but Hell, Inc. has been nominated for an award! It’s up for Best Webcomic in the Sequential Magazine Awards (which are for Canadian independent comics), which is very cool. The winner is voted for by you, the people, and you can vote by clicking the image below! I would really appreciate it if you did that, because winning things rules and I want an award to put in my office (the last one I won saw the company shut down before they sent me my plaque).

If you want to check out the nominees in the other categories, many of whom are friends and acquaintances of mine, check out the full nominee list by clicking here.

Employee of the Week returns next week when I have my shit together and remember to prep the update ahead of time like normal.

Next Week: Even the good news is bad news. Read it early on Patreon!

The Most Terrible Punishment

The most terrible punishment… is forced festivity!? It is in Hell! And also malls in December.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Cindy Gauthier is Employee of the Week, and can help fulfill all of your COVID-related mask needs. If you want to get your comics needs handled, support Hell, Inc. on Patreon, where you’ll get a digital copy of Hell, Inc. Volume 4: “Mandatory” (which includes a book-exclusive short story) as well as over 1000 pages of other comics!

You can also support Hell, Inc. by voting for it on Top Webcomics, which is the largest source of new readers. It’s highly ranked this month, so thanks for voting and keep it up by clicking on the banner below!

Next Week: Is Sara as sturdy as soap box? Find out on Patreon!

Champions

Welcome to the 666th (maybe? I dunno, we lost count) Annual Mandatory Intramural Slo-Pitch Tournament. Catchy name, right? I thought so.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Robbie Dorman, host of The Simpsons Show podcast, is Employee of the Week. He’s also one of the co-hosts of new podcast Cartoon Graveyard, on which I was the first guest! We talked about The Mighty Ducks animated series from 1996-7 and discussed whether it should be reincarnated or buried, and it was a lot of fun. If you like fun, you probably also want to be Employee of the Week and help Hell, Inc. continue existing by supporting Hell, Inc. on Patreon. All new patrons are receiving a digital copy of Hell, Inc. Volume 3: Team-building Exercise, as well as access to a Dropbox folder with over 1000 pages of digital comics!

You can also help Hell, Inc. by voting for it on Top Webcomics, which brings in loads of new readers! Votes early in the month (like, say, now) are worth extra as the rankings reset.

Next Week: Stan is the Man. Or whatever you would call an incarnation of evil? Read it early on Patreon!

Office Ninja

The chair stealing subplot involved a lot of things that were really easy to write, but much more difficult to draw. There’s a lot of messing around with camera angles and the flow of panels to make it as interesting as possible within the strip format.

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK:

Jillian Dolan is Employee of the Week! She is also a comic-smith, and you should check out her works, including Misha and Kyle the Nihilist Dinosaur. They’re delightful. If you think Hell, Inc. is delightful and want to support it with your hard-earned money, head over to the Hell, Inc. patreon. As a reward, new sign-ups gain access to a folder of over 1000 pages of comic, including the otherwise unreleased Hell, Inc. Vol. 3: “Team-building Exercise!”

You can also vote for Hell, Inc. on Top Webcomics, which is the number one source of new readers for the comic. Votes early in the month (for example, this week) are super valuable as the rankings reset at the beginning of the month. You can vote once per day, so click on the banner below to get voting!

Next Week: The Mission Impossible theme would be playing but I don’t have the rights to it so just hum it yourself. Read it early on Patreon!
